Suicide, Novel Writing, and Pen Pals

February 23, 2013

It’s been pretty warm around here–Spring is almost here. I was planning on running and playing basketball today, but I’m not sure if we’re even going to yard. There has been a lot of so-called “down days” lately.

About a month ago, a corrections officer killed himself, and they had his funeral about  a week later. There was no program on that day either. I’m not sure if the job got to him or what. From what I heard though, he was one of the correction officers who was more of a hard nose and jerk. So maybe there were some personal issues driving him to that also. Who can ever tell why someone commits suicide? Sometimes I’m not sure that the person himself completely understands either.

On another note, I’ve been working hard on my novel and have the first 50 pages almost complete. I think it is coming along well, and then I get discouraged. So maybe it is, and maybe it’s not. Either way I know that it’s still going to need to take a lot of work before a final copy/product is produced. Time will tell, I guess.

I know a couple of people who have found good pen pals through a prison pen pal site. One of those guys has had the same pen-pal for ten years. Lucky him. Anyway, we’ll see what happens as far as bLog and FB are concerned. I think it’d be fun to have someone to write to particularly about writing but also to find out what’s going on in the world out there.

Sean would like very much to correspond with others about writing and life in general. If you are interested, send a short note about yourself to Sean to He will answer you by regular mail if you include your address.
